Member Engagement Specialist
The Member Engagement Specialist, reporting to the Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer, is responsible for providing support in the delivery of member benefits, offerings and programs. In order to fulfill this role, it is important for the Member Engagement Specialist to have exposure to and a fundamental understanding of all programs and projects for which TVPPA is responsible and engaged. This will enable the Member Engagement Specialist to either respond to member and non-member inquiries directly or collaborate appropriately with the staff member who has direct responsibility for specific programs/projects.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
Respond to inquiries from members and non-members in a timely manner and follow-up as required
Manage master database of committees, advisory groups, congressional listings, Valley Rally sheets, and other board or member-populated groups to ensure compliance with operating guidelines and bylaws, in cooperation with staff liaisons
Assist staff liaisons with event planning efforts including identifying meeting spaces, organizing catering, and handling venue logistics, attend committee and advisory group meetings, and provide administrative support in coordination with staff liaisons
Manage the Hot Topics Webinar program to include scheduling, developing topics, finding subject matter speakers, and facilitating the webinar sessions
Manage the EnergyRight Solutions for Youth programs which includes managing educator contracts, reviewing and updating materials on a regular schedule to ensure compliance with state standards in the Valley states, and working in conjunction with the communications and marketing team to market the program to TVPPA members for the public, private, and home school systems in their member service areas
Manage new manager engagement opportunities, including the New Manager Training program, coordinating with leadership to increase overall exposure to the association’s structure, services, and staff
Maintain the schedule of annual member visits and records in Basecamp ensuring that all visits are assigned to a staff member and following up to make sure all visits are completed by year end
Serve as primary point of contact for district associations, including communication with district leadership and assistance with meeting content and programming
Maintain district membership and chair records, update Salesforce (CRM), and inform communications and marketing to update the TVPPA website
Coordinate the timely submissions of committee and advisory group reports for the TVPPA Board of Directors meetings and review and edit reports for consistent formatting, spelling, grammar, and messaging
Assist in organizing and coordinating the TVPPA All-Member Meeting and Annual Meeting through guidance from the Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer
Attend district meetings as requested
Attend conferences, rallies, and other events hosted by strategic partners as requested
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge Requirements Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, business management, or related area is required
Experience in the electric utility industry preferred
Experience with event planning preferred
Ability to travel as needed including some overnight travel
Self-starter with an ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong organizational, follow-up, and follow-through skills
Must be adaptable, goal-oriented, and possess business acumen skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to include some public speaking
