What You’ll Do As an Outside Parts Salesperson, you will generate business within your assigned territory by developing and maintaining customer contacts, identifying new opportunities, and spending over 50% of your time outside the office actively selling parts.
Job Duties
Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of BusWest products and pricing.
Identify leads, manage prospects, and acquire new business.
Visit assigned customers and prospect for new ones.
Communicate parts orders to inside parts salespeople.
Meet or exceed new business sales goals.
Conduct prospecting activities to secure initial and follow‑up appointments with decision-makers.
Schedule and document activities.
Prepare and draft sales documentation and other paperwork to complete sales promptly.
Stay aware of market behavior and competitive trends, responding accordingly.
Regularly meet with the sales supervisor to review weekly sales activities, progress on goals, and status of prospective customers.
Advise parts personnel of any special customer needs.
Follow up on parts orders to ensure the department meets or exceeds customer expectations.
Act as a public‑relations liaison for BusWest.
Maintain excellent customer service standards.
Resolve customer complaints and provide conflict resolution.
Visit customers to ensure and maintain excellent relationships.
Job Qualifications & Requirements
Five (5) or more years of experience in service or parts departments of the trucking industry.
Technician experience.
Ability to maintain a professional appearance.
Excellent customer service skills.
Strong communication skills.
Leadership and teamwork qualities.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to pass a post‑offer drug test.
Compensation
100% commission.
