Summary
Handle artworks carefully using proper fine art handling.
Record object details including titles, artists, dimensions, mediums, acquisition numbers, and current condition.
Photograph artworks according to project guidelines and attach images to records.
Possibly apply permanent inventory tags/labels to objects or shelves as directed.
Report damaged, or inaccurately cataloged items to the project lead.
Follow all security, confidentiality, and environmental safety procedures.
Requirements
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
Comfortable working around valuable and fragile items.
Ability to lift, move, or carry items up to 30lbs or as required.
Basic computer skills: familiarity with spreadsheets or databases is a plus.
Experience in museums, galleries, or art handling is preferred but not required (training provided).
Reliability, professionalism, and discretion are essential.
Requires periods of standing, bending, and walking.
May involve working on ladders or step stools with proper supervision.
