Senior Claims Specialist - Commercial Rideshare Litigation Injury Adjuster

Pay Range $74,000•$139,000 per year
Overview Work in a hybrid setting that balances in-person collaboration with flexible remote work. The Senior Claims Specialist reviews, analyzes, and processes moderately complex to complex claims within assigned authority limits, makes decisions on liability and compensability, negotiates settlements, and manages a portfolio of commercial property/casualty claims involving bodily injury or property loss. The role may also help assign new claims, provide technical direction, and monitor caseloads.
Office Requirements Must be within 50 miles of one of the following offices: Boston, MA; Westborough, MA; Hoffman Estates, IL; Weatogue, CT; Indianapolis, IN; Plano, TX; Suwanee, GA; Lake Oswego, OR; Las Vegas, NV; Chandler, AZ. Requires office presence twice a month. This policy is subject to change.
Responsibilities
Plan and conduct investigations of claims, including interviewing parties, collecting documentation, securing evidence, and protecting chain of custody.
Determine coverage, liability, compensability, and damages; engage independent adjusters, experts, and medical examiners as needed.
Handle subrogation or special investigations referrals.
Assess policy coverage, notify insureds of issues, and manage reserve requirements.
Negotiate settlements within authority limits.
Coordinate litigation activities and attend trials representing the company.
Provide senior technical support, mentor new team members, and assist with escalated issues.
Participate in quality reviews and conduct suit committees, roundtables, arbitrations, mediations, field investigations, and closed‑file reviews.
Qualifications
Excellent interpersonal skills for negotiating and conducting investigations.
Demonstrated leadership, time‑management, and delegation abilities.
Expert knowledge of claims case handling, legal liability, general insurance policy coverage, and state tort laws, typically acquired through a bachelor’s degree or equivalent training plus 4 to 6 years of related experience, with at least two years in a leadership capacity.
Licensing required in some states.
