Responsibilities include creating sales utilizing exceptional customer service and knowledge of the La‑Z‑Boy selling process, products, and services. You will build long‑term customer relationships that lead to increased sales and profitability.
Training Pay: $15‑$20 per hour for 2‑6 weeks (no commissions; base rate varies by location). Average Annual Earning Potential After Training: $36,000‑$60,000+ (inclusive of base, commission, and bonus).
Key Responsibilities
Drive Sales
– Contribute to store sales goals by selling furniture, accessories, and services. Promote the Design program and assist the Designer to achieve established sales goals. Consistently execute the La‑Z‑Boy selling process to provide a favorable experience to all customers.
Develop and utilize sales skills and principles, including approach, rapport building, needs discovery, customized portfolio presentations, objection handling, closing, follow‑up, and after‑sale service.
Maximize store promotions, marketing initiatives, and grassroots programs.
Maintain strong knowledge of the features and benefits of existing and new product lines.
Schedule professional home consultations to present customized room designs and offer installation services.
Support design‑related functions in the store.
Provide the highest level of customer service, ensuring a positive experience for all customers. Use Podium for satisfaction and follow‑up.
Assist in handling customer issues and complaints, providing appropriate solutions.
Maintain positive working relationships with all store employees and help train, coach, and develop new peers.
Assist in visual merchandising: maintain displays, tagging, and store cleanliness.
Accurately complete order information, collect deposits, maintain records, and research payments.
Maintain daily On‑Point system logs and schedule deliveries. Open and close the store as needed.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous selling experience and strong closing ability preferred.
Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and persuasion/negotiation abilities.
Effective time management and ability to work in a team.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Preferred Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand for long periods, sit, walk, bend, and stoop as needed.
Continuous use of repetitive hand motions, hearing, and listening.
Subject to indoor environmental conditions.
Must pass background and drug screen.
Pay and Compensation

Total Compensation Range: $22,880‑$75,000+; will not pay less than state/local minimum wage requirements.
