Mechanical Engineer Accord Technologies Inc Pay range: $35 000 – $40 000 per year (based on skills and experience)

Location: Asheville, NC (100% On‑site) Contract: 6–12+ months Visa: All visas accepted (including Canadian Citizens) – no sponsorship required

Must Have:

Mechanical engineering background with experience in value engineering, value analysis, cost‑out (e.g., saving by reducing part prices), new product development, engineering change processes, and creating test plans for verification and validation of designs. Proficiency in SolidWorks, 3D modeling, and regulatory affairs/ISO 13485.

Job Description

Coordinate with the India Engineering Center (IEC) and enable successful project execution, maintaining daily sync with the offshore team and IEC leadership.

Perform a full lifecycle product development: design, develop, prototype test, and implement.

Design systems and components that meet defined needs and requirements.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and engineers from other disciplines to understand requirements for the design.

Develop project plans, risk management documents, and other deliverables per business‑unit process.

Perform product verification to evaluate overall performance, reliability, and safety; modify designs to eliminate malfunctions.

Conduct VAVE studies, identify cost‑out opportunities that are quality neutral, perform cost‑benefit analysis, and finalize projected annual savings.

Lead cost‑out opportunity mining within the mechanical domain using spend‑Pareto analysis, should‑cost calculations, competitor benchmarking, tear‑downs, etc.

Work with global product sustainment teams to maintain alignment on R&D road maps and resources.

Execute cross‑functional collaboration throughout all phases of the toll‑gate process.

Coordinate with Regulatory Affairs to secure approvals such as UL, FDA, CSA, and European certifications.

You Will Have

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 8–13 years of experience.

Proven experience designing and developing products such as laboratory equipment, home appliances, and temperature/pressure control equipment.

Knowledge of refrigeration systems (hydrocarbon and natural refrigerant) and heat‑load calculations is an advantage.

Solid understanding of core concepts: mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science.

Experience in technical risk assessment and mitigation planning.

Strong communication skills for global, cross‑functional collaboration.

You Will Need

Design verification plan development and risk assessment.

Creativity, analytical ability, and organizational skills (time/resource planning, pressure management).

Ability to identify, measure, communicate, and manage risks; recommend options supported by clear analysis.

Strong time‑management, prioritization, and ownership of tasks and issues.

Knowledge of project management theory and practice, managing scope, schedule, cost, and quality.

Ownership of end‑to‑end project success, engaging cross‑functions, ensuring accountability, delivering on time and with quality results.

Competence with project management tools (e.g., MPP) and related software.

Preferred familiarity with safety regulatory requirements for laboratory equipment.

Candidate must hold a valid L1 or H1B visa for at least one year.
