Inter-Coastal Electronics
Research, plans, designs and develop electro/mechanical systems and products, including assemblies and sub-assemblies. Modifies legacy products as needed and recommends product improvements. Revises engineering drawings of major components and assemblies.
Responsibilities
Research, designs, computes calculations and prepare original rough layouts, or sketches to present design proposal of electro/mechanical systems.
Uses computer-aided drafting software (SolidWorks or AUTOCAD) to develop layouts, drawings and designs that meet engineering specifications.
Reviews engineering drawings, analyzes design and retrieves information to complete drawing, layout of design. Recommend changes as necessary.
Creates detailed drawings or engineering specifications to dimension, scale or line locate.
Coordinates design criteria with engineering and manufacturing to ensure conformance to contract specifications.
Considers designs for manufacturability.
Attends preliminary & critical design reviews, prepares & submits weekly progress reports to Manager, mentors, and associates within the engineering group.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Problem Solving And Discretion/Latitude
Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
Works under general supervision.
Follows established procedures.
Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy.
Knowledge/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering strongly preferred.
3 – 5 years of electromechanical design required.
Associates degree and 6+ years electromechanical design experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
Experience with military aircraft and vehicles required.
Knowledge of ASME Y14 Drawing Standards strongly preferred.
Excellent SolidWorks skills required.
PDMWorks experience is strongly preferred.
Ability to obtain security clearance may be required.
Job Type: Full-time In-Office | Compensation: $41.48 – $48.35 per hour
