Responsibilities
- Underwrite and grow a $1–1.5 million GWP book, focusing on Construction/Builders Risk, Motor Truck Cargo, and miscellaneous lines.
- Produce new business and maintain a target loss ratio of 45% while meeting annual company goals for profitability, renewal retention, and customer service standards.
- Collaborate with senior underwriters, a “buddy” in the Northeast, and a broker distribution network to expand the portfolio.
- Set appropriate rates and factor levels within established risk guidelines.
Qualifications
- Background in Inland Marine underwriting across construction, floaters or motor truck cargo.
- Strong broker distribution and ability to produce profitable new business.
- Excellent technical advice, risk assessment, and customer service skills.
