Head of Foreclosure Operations & Strategy
We are seeking a senior foreclosure leader to build, launch, and scale a lender‑side foreclosure division within an established real estate law platform. This role is designed for someone who has owned foreclosure as a business—not just advised on it.
The ideal candidate has deep experience in foreclosure, default servicing, bankruptcy, loss recovery, or creditor‑rights operations at scale and understands how lenders, servicers, and investors evaluate foreclosure counsel. This role does not require a law license; legal execution will be handled by a senior foreclosure attorney reporting into this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and launch a full foreclosure practice from the ground up
- Establish workflows, timelines, controls, and reporting structures
- Own foreclosure operations end‑to‑end, including performance, compliance, and scalability
- Build staffing models (attorneys, paralegals, support) aligned with volume growth
- Serve as the primary point of contact for lender, servicer, and investor relationships
- Lead vendor onboarding, audits, RFP responses, and ongoing performance reviews
- Design KPI dashboards, scorecards, and reporting that meet institutional standards
- Anticipate and mitigate audit, compliance, and regulatory risks
- Oversee foreclosure, bankruptcy, and loss recovery pipelines
- Partner closely with the Managing Foreclosure Attorney on legal execution
- Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements
- Ensure files move efficiently while maintaining quality and compliance
- Help position the foreclosure division in the market
- Support pricing strategy, margin management, and capacity planning
- Contribute to long‑term growth strategy and expansion opportunities
- Act as internal subject‑matter expert on foreclosure operations
Ideal Background
- Former VP/AVP/Director of Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, Default Services, or Loss Recovery
- Or senior foreclosure law firm operations leader (non‑attorney)
- Or senior servicer‑side foreclosure executive who managed outside foreclosure counsel
- Experience owning foreclosure outcomes, not just oversight
- Familiarity with judicial foreclosure states preferred
- Comfortable operating in regulated, audit‑driven environments
Required Experience
- 10+ years in foreclosure, default servicing, loss mitigation, or creditor‑rights operations
- Direct experience managing foreclosure pipelines at scale
- Experience working with or supervising foreclosure counsel
- Strong understanding of lender and servicer expectations
- Proven ability to design and scale operational processes
- Leadership experience managing teams and vendors
