Job Summary

Major Accounts Property Underwriting is growing our Large Property team and looking for an experienced Executive Property Underwriter to own new and renewal business across the Central Region (15 states, Minnesota to Texas). This is a production-focused role underwriting large property accounts (single‑carrier and quota‑share) with total insured values (TIV) of $300M+.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage a targeted portfolio of brokers, agents, and clients across the Central Region
  • Underwrite and bind large property accounts (TIV $300M+) single‑carrier and quota‑share
  • Analyze exposures, set pricing, and make acceptance decisions within underwriting authority
  • Communicate complex coverage and technical differences clearly to brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders
  • Use portfolio analysis and data‑driven insights to influence business strategy and marketing plans
  • Build and grow relationships with senior/market‑leading brokers to drive new business opportunities
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with UW Support, Claims, Actuarial, and regional/national underwriting leadership
  • Stay current on legal, regulatory, and case law developments that impact underwriting practice; share knowledge internally and externally
  • Mentor, coach, and develop underwriters and underwriting partners; contribute to process improvement projects

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business or equivalent typically required
  • 7‑10+ years of progressive underwriting experience or related business experience
  • CPCU or professional insurance designation preferred
  • Proven analytical ability to evaluate and judge underwriting risks within scope of responsibility
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex analyses clearly to internal and external stakeholders
  • Comprehensive understanding of complex technical underwriting issues and ability to implement processes/workflows
  • Proven track record of developing and underwriting profitable business

The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
