Job Summary

The Director of Sales has direct oversight of sales operations for the hotel. This role is responsible for achieving optimal occupancy and ADR growth to maximize revenue while meeting and exceeding profit objectives. The individual oversees the sales department including direct sales, follow‑up, sales administration, hiring, training, managing and coaching.

Additional responsibilities include managing the sales and marketing budget, forecast, advertising, and business plans within approved budgets.

Exempt associates are expected to work as much of each workday as necessary. Primary duties are administrative, executive, or professional tasks more than 50% of the time, involving discretion and independent judgment.

Job Duties And Functions

  • Coordinate all group, transient, and catering sales solicitations and bookings to maximize overall revenue.
  • Develop, recommend, implement, and manage the division’s annual budget and sales programs to maximize rate, occupancy, and food‑and‑beverage opportunities, ensuring revenue and profit goals are met.
  • Conduct outside sales calls, sales tours, and client entertaining.
  • Understand contract content and negotiate terms.
  • Maintain market awareness to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategies.
  • Monitor top‑account production and evaluate market trends.
  • Adhere to company regulations, sales standards, and metrics.
  • Comply with individual and team goals and budgeted metrics.
  • Train hotel staff to recognize and capitalize on sales opportunities.
  • Acquire full knowledge of hotel operations and policies across Sales, F&B, Front Office, and Reservations.
  • Maintain community and industry organization visibility.
  • Attend and conduct daily/weekly/monthly meetings and provide training on a rotational basis.
  • Maintain professional communication with marketing partners and internal departments.
  • Travel weekly as required.
  • Act on behalf of the General Manager when absent and perform other duties as requested.

100% On‑Site, In‑Office Position.
