Counter Sales

associate, you are the "face of the retail store" and the go–to person for automotive needs. You don’t need to tear down engines, but a background in automotive parts is essential. This role is ideal whether you want a long‑term career as a Parts Specialist, are looking for full‑time or part‑time work, or simply want to explore future opportunities with us.

What you will be doing:

Provide auto parts answers and solutions for our retail and wholesale customers in person at the counter or over the phone

Use your parts knowledge to assist other NAPA team members in answering customer questions

Deliver outstanding customer care and interactions with everyone who visits our NAPA store

Bring customer focus and high energy to our fast‑paced stores

Welcome retail customers, engage them, and provide a positive consumer experience

Use technology (computer), cash register, telephone, and paper catalog system

This is the right opportunity for you if you:

Enjoy helping our retail and wholesale customers with their auto parts and service questions

Have gained parts experience through automotive work or tinkering with/repairing cars and trucks throughout the year

Are willing to learn all things automotive if you don’t already have the background

What you’ll need:

Valid driver’s license

Previous experience in a parts store, automotive industry, or a willingness to learn all things auto parts

High school diploma or GED; technical or trade school courses or degree a plus

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Love for fast‑paced retail environments

Great listening skills and empathy for customers

And if you have this, even better (not a deal breaker if you don’t):

Background or passion for the automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership

Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, auto body/collision

Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems – a plus

Entirely customer‑centric (external or internal)

ASE certifications

This position offers an hourly pay range of $17.75. Many of our hourly positions have pay progression with set starting rates and you reach the top end of this range within 12 months of hire. For other positions, the starting rate will be determined based on individual skills, experience, and qualifications.
