The Mortgage Processor II is responsible for processing long-term mortgage loans as well as lot, 2nd mortgages and HELOC loans. Conveys policies for extension of credit in accordance with Credit Union and secondary investor guidelines. Serves members and prospective members, developers, and realtors promptly and professionally. Provides general Credit Union information and cross-sells services. Assists Real Estate Lending personnel as necessary.

Duties & Responsibilities

Provides members and Real Estate Lending personnel with quality mortgage loan processing according to the credit union's policies, practices, and procedures. Keeps abreast of all Fannie Mae underwriting guidelines as required.

Prepares loan underwriting package for submission to the underwriter.

Obtains all needed deposit, income & employment verifications for loan packages.

Orders appraisals, if applicable, flood determinations, and private mortgage insurance.

Coordinates communications between members, realtor, attorney, seller, and appraisal management firm.

Requests payoffs and updated insurance declaration pages showing the desired mortgagee clause.

Complies with Credit Union Policies and Procedures, as well as regulatory compliance.

Provides back‑up to other Real Estate Lending staff as needed.

Assumes responsibilities for related duties as required or assigned.

Skills & Qualifications Education/Certification & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge of real estate lending criteria, compliance, and federal/state regulations

Experience with Calyx Point, Meridian Link/Loans PQ, or Encompass Software

Skills/Abilities

Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills

Ability to perform in a fast‑paced environment typical of Mortgage Banking

Experience with Microsoft Word & Excel
