PT station KPNX, the NBC affiliate in Phoenix, is seeking a dynamic Meteorologist/MSJ Reporter who can do it all—forecast weather and deliver impactful daily news, offering a unique opportunity to connect with our audience on both fronts. The ideal candidate will prepare and present accurate and engaging weather forecasts as well as report, write, shoot, and edit stories on a range of news topics, showcasing strong journalistic judgment and creativity. This candidate thrives both in the studio and in the field, forecasting weather changes, keeping the audience informed and safe, and bringing authority to every news report. Responsibilities Provide accurate and compelling weather forecasts in a multi‑platform environment. Prepare and deliver severe weather updates. Produce clean, creative, and informative graphics to tell the weather story. Write and report news from the field. Report live on breaking and developing news.Perform special projects and other duties as assigned. Create digital content (website, app, streaming, social). Requirements 2‑5 years on‑air weather experience including reporting preferred. Proficient at posting content to various websites and social media; computer literacy required, including weather and newsroom computer systems. Must possess solid news judgment, effective communication skills, creativity, and ethical decision‑making skills. Bachelor’s degree in journalism, meteorology, mass communication, or related field.
