NewsNation Weekend Dayside - Senior Producer
The Senior Producer will co‑lead the team for NewsNation Live’s weekend dayside program, crafting editorial direction, booking strategy, and coordinating live show production. Candidates must bring strong editorial judgment, control‑room experience, and be comfortable producing and managing segments in a fast‑paced environment. Early‑morning hours are required. The position is based at the network’s offices in New York.
Responsibilities
Assist the executive producer and anchor in setting the show's editorial direction.
Pitch story ideas and suggest guest bookings.
Build rundown for regular, breaking news, and special programming.
Coordinate the team: line producers, associate producers, writers, editors, and other staff.
Produce segments as needed and copy‑edit scripts and content.
Serve as a senior leader in the control room.
Fill in as executive producer or line producer when necessary.
Manage editorial relationships and collaborate with other teams.
Implement training and best practices for the show team.
Mentor and support team members.
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by network management.
Requirements & Skills
Five or more years of editorial experience in a fast‑paced national news program (broadcast, cable, or digital), including segment and line producing.
Self‑directing, self‑motivated, and able to work with a diverse group.
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
Excellent writing and copy‑editing skills.
Considerable line‑producing experience; segment and package producing experience is a plus.
Ability to handle high‑pressure, high‑intensity situations with poise and maturity.
Willingness to work assigned shifts and be on call during overnights, mornings, and weekends/holidays.
Salary Range
Per experience: $100,000 – $115,000
