Executive Director of Business and Administrative Affairs
East Carolina University requires applicants to submit a candidate profile online in order to be considered for this position. Position Overview The Executive Director of Business and Administrative Affairs reports to the Dean of the College of Nursing and serves as the College’s chief business and financial officer. The incumbent provides strategic direction to the College’s administrative and financial operations, develops and implements policies and procedures, oversees workflow, and supports the College’s academic and financial goals.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision:
Supervises the Business Operations Unit, manages staff performance, and collaborates with the Associate Dean for Engagement and Professional Development.
Business Policy Development:
Formulates and implements business policies, advises senior leaders on resource allocation, and serves on key committees.
Financial Oversight:
Provides oversight in budget management, financial planning, purchasing, personnel administration, and facilities management. Oversees all financial affairs of the College, including state appropriations, foundation awards, and trust funds.
Administrative Direction:
Leads the development of processes, coordinates with the Director of Strategic Operations and Partnerships, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders on contracts and funding.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field.
At least three years of professional accounting experience, with at least one year in a supervisory role.
Preference for experience within an Academic Health Sciences Center or a College of Nursing.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, and proven leadership effectiveness.
