FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders.
Independent contractors earn predictable full-time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but an ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines is crucial.

What is an Occupancy Verification? Mortgage lenders require periodic updates on their properties. Inspectors visit the property to verify occupancy, report on general condition using a mobile application, and capture photos.
Most inspections are exterior only. About 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.
Inspectors contract at a county level, responsible for completing all inspections in their county, sharing the county if volume warrants two inspectors.
Responsibilities
Complete most inspections in 5-6 minutes.
Finish inspection within 4 days after assignment.
Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
Take photos of the property with brief comments.
Complete a short form in a mobile app.
Spend extended periods driving and making stops during the day within the assigned territory.
Requirements
Computer with internet connection.
Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage preferred, as you will pay your own gas).
Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
Printer.
Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.
Pay and Hours This is a 1099 position. inspection has a flat rate, varying by county and volume. Earnings range from $30–$40 per hour.
Depending on county, you can complete 20–500 inspections per month and work 2–30 hours per week. Lower volume counties have higher rates; higher volume counties lower rates. Work is consistent month-to-month.
Earnings grow as experience increases, availability expands, or larger territory coverage is offered.
No mileage reimbursement above the flat fee per inspection.
