Candidates must demonstrate solid news skills, strong leadership, organization, and communication ability. The role involves coordinating news coverage, dispatching crews, handling enterprise stories, monitoring scanners, checking beats, and populating the website. A solid understanding of newsgathering technology—including ENG/SNG, ENPS, and online research—is required. A college degree and experience in a television newsroom are a plus. Key Responsibilities Monitor various news sources, including scanners, social media, and news wires, to identify breaking news and story leads Support the assignment desk by researching news stories, verifying facts, and assisting in story development Collaborate with reporters, photographers, and newsroom personnel to coordinate coverage assignments and logistical arrangements Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in newsroom databases and systems Create and publish compelling digital content across web, mobile, and social platforms in alignment with newsroom priorities Execute daily social media strategy, including platform‑specific posting, breaking‑news coverage, and audience engagement Collaborate with reporters, producers, and editors for digital & streaming distribution Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field preferred Strong passion for news, storytelling, and a keen interest in pursuing a career in journalism Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment High level of curiosity, adaptability, and a desire to learn from experienced industry professionals Basic understanding of newsroom operations, journalism principles, and digital media tools is a plus Physical Requirements Ability to remain at a computer workstation for extended periods Ability to view and interpret information on multiple screens Ability to type and perform data entry at a steady pace Ability to move within the newsroom as needed and respond quickly in breaking‑news situations Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 20 pounds Benefits Full‑time new hires: Eligible to participate in all Company benefit plans, including: Health, Dental, Vision Insurance, and HSA First of the month after 30 days employment Subject to plan terms Eligibility for company‑paid benefits such as life insurance & EAP and employee‑paid benefits such as short‑term disability PTO – Earned on Accrual Basis Company‑Paid Holidays 401(k) #J-18808-Ljbffr
