Claims Editor Join to apply for the Claims Editor role at St. Joseph's/Candler Location: Savannah, GA. Salary: $54,000.00-$59,000.00. Role overview: Responsible for ensuring all insurance claim edits and rejections from Meditech and SSI are reviewed, analyzed, and resolved. Claims must be compliant with federal and state regulations. Duties include billing, prompt adding and follow-up of SSI tickets to enhance billing efficiencies. Understands the laws that govern billing. Responsibilities Perform claims editing to ensure a positive cash flow. Accurately screen and process assigned claims edits and rejections. Meet departmental time standards for corrections; rebill claims when appropriate. Provide oversight of claims editing. Review and analyze claims editing reports. Determine sources of errors and rejections. Recommend process changes within Patient Accounts and other departments to ensure efficiency and compliance. Create SSR inquiries to SSI for creation of edits for more efficient workflow. Work collaboratively with others to achieve efficiency and accuracy. Seek answers/assistance from the appropriate source. Keep up to date on billing/compliance rule changes. Qualifications High School Diploma - Preferred. 2-3 Years Healthcare claims and reimbursement experience - Required. Knowledge of laws governing billing. None required for license & certification.
