Overview
Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Public Affairs (PA) Specialist supporting Test Operations and Sustainment (TOS) efforts at Arnold Air Force Base (AFB), TN. The PA Specialist will work as a member of an integrated team developing written and visual products to support the Air Force public‑affairs mission across Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC).
Job Summary
The Public Affairs Specialist primarily supports Air Force Public Affairs mission and objectives at Arnold AFB by producing written and visual products, including news releases, photographs, graphics, and videos. The position also assists the Public Affairs Tour Coordinator with the Arnold AFB Tour program.
Job Duties
Produce news stories and/or press releases – technical, human interest, feature, public service announcements – supporting AEDC activities.
Follow Associated Press and Air Force style guides.
Follow established security clearance and release review processes.
Review and edit news stories and/or press releases written by coworkers.
Produce and edit content for other AEDC and Arnold AFB publications, e.g., fact sheets, brochures, and special publications.
Produce high‑quality professional photographs to document AEDC and Arnold AFB events and write accompanying captions.
Support the Arnold AFB Tour program by soliciting participation, coordinating requirements, developing agendas, and serving as a tour guide when required.
Support Arnold AFB Disaster and Emergency Response exercises.
Produce content for the AEDC website and social media platforms.
Wear PPE in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
Perform other duties as required.
Basic Qualifications
BS/BA in communications, public relations, journalism, photojournalism, or a related field with 1–3 years of experience in writing and photography.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and access the AEDC local area network.
Current U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong public‑speaking skills.
Experience creating content for websites and social media platforms.
Knowledge of cameras, photo composition, and graphic design.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, Bridge).
Flexibility, multitasking, and ability to handle stressful situations.
Team‑building experience.
Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
Willingness to take on a variety of assignments.
Independent and collaborative work style.
Active Secret clearance.
