Salary The salary range for this role is USD 162,000 – USD 326,000. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, experience, education, and key skills.

What You Will Do
Develop and execute advocacy communications strategies to advance RTX defense policy and business priorities leveraging thought leadership, media relations, marketing, third‑party advocacy, crisis response, digital advocacy, and coalition building.
Partner closely with the RTX Communications centers of excellence (COEs) and subject matter experts in Global Government Relations and the Business Units to drive and shape policy outcomes through Public Affairs solutions reaching the Executive branch, U.S. Congress, and U.S. Department of Defense.
Support policy‑focused thought leadership to position RTX as a thought leader in key defense issues.
Coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders to inform the company’s response on pressing issues.
Integrate policy communications strategies into defense‑specific RTX Communications Campaigns and collaborate across RTX Communications COEs to contribute to campaigns such as stakeholder mapping and developing policy messaging to help position RTX for growth.
Support development of and maintain communications deliverables (talking points, key messages, prep packages, speeches, holding statements, etc.) in coordination with business partners and communications centers of expertise (COEs) to support public affairs communications strategies for defense policy and business priorities.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a University Degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Public Relations or a related field and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience, or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience.
U.S. citizenship is required.
Previous project management experience to deliver strategic communications solutions in matrixed organizations.
Takes initiative to deliver effective and creative outcome‑driven public affairs solutions in a fast‑paced environment.
Demonstrated excellent judgement to advise on risk mitigation and reputation management.
Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution.
Proven trusted advisor to influence, consult and engage senior stakeholders.
Qualifications That We Prefer
Proven track record of executing public affairs and/or policy communications solutions to influence a policy outcome.
Previous experience collaborating with functional team members and internal and external stakeholder groups.
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities on tight deadlines.
