Subcontractor Sourcing & Expansion Identify, recruit, and build relationships with qualified subcontractors across HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and related trades throughout the contiguous United States. Proactively source subcontractors using industry databases, trade organizations, cold outreach, existing vendor referrals, and market research. Ensure geographic coverage aligns with business needs, strategic account requirements, and project demand forecasts. Qualification & Onboarding Lead the full qualification process, including capability assessments, safety records, licensing, insurance verification, capacity evaluation, and past performance review. Develop and maintain standardized onboarding documentation, workflows, and approval criteria for subcontractor partners. Collaborate with legal, finance, and operations to ensure all compliance requirements (contracts, COIs, W9s, etc.) are executed and maintained. Performance Management & Compliance Own the operational relationship with subcontractors post-onboarding—including communications, expectations, performance monitoring, and corrective actions. Track job performance, responsiveness, quality of work, customer interactions, adherence to scope, and financial accuracy. Resolve escalations related to subcontractor performance, scheduling, invoicing disputes, or field issues in collaboration with project stakeholders. Subcontractor Scorecards & Grading System Design, launch, and maintain a standardized subcontractor performance scorecard used nationally across Crete United’s operating companies and strategic account teams. Define KPIs such as: On-time arrival and job completion First-pass yield / quality scores Warranty or callback rates Documentation and reporting accuracy Pricing competitiveness and consistency Safety compliance Distribute scorecard results to internal stakeholders and use insights to drive continuous improvement and accountability within the subcontractor network. Network Optimization & Strategic Execution Analyze subcontractor density vs. project demand to ensure adequate coverage across all U.S. regions. Assist with forecasting subcontractor capacity for national programs, major rollouts, or high-volume seasonal work (start-ups, PM cycles, equipment verifications, etc.). Identify gaps in the network and develop action plans to strengthen market coverage. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with the Associate Director of HVAC Strategic Accounts, project managers, service coordinators, and field leadership across Crete’s operating companies. Coordinate with finance to validate subcontractor pricing, job costing, and invoice alignment. Partner with IS/IT teams to maintain subcontractor data in Trimble Spectrum and any related systems. Qualifications Required 5–7+ years of experience in HVAC, mechanical, MEP services, construction management, vendor management, or related field. Proven experience managing subcontractors, vendors, or third-party field resources at scale. Strong understanding of MEP trade work, safety standards, licensing, and field operations. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to analyze operational and financial data to drive decisions. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a large volume of subcontractor relationships across multiple regions. Preferred Experience with national service delivery, multi-site project execution, or strategic accounts. Familiarity with Trimble Spectrum or similar ERPs. Background in developing vendor scorecards, KPI dashboards, or performance frameworks. Success Metrics Growth of the national subcontractor network and geographic coverage. Reduction in project delays linked to subcontractor availability or quality. Scorecard improvements over time (quality, responsiveness, documentation). Support for financial performance targets on subcontracted jobs (margin protection, accurate billing). Positive feedback from operations, project managers, and strategic account leaders.
