Personal Financial Counselor, Assignment Ready Counselor, PFC, Wisconsin
Magellan Health is seeking a Personal Financial Counselor (PFC) to provide personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations. This role covers short‑term, surge, and on‑demand situations related to military needs, such as post‑deployment events or covering an absent counselor.
Responsibilities
Provides personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
Assists service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
Develops and makes available informational financial materials to service members and families.
Coordinates, publicizes, and provides a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering topics across the military lifecycle.
Responds to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
Facilitates virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication.
Manages duty to warn situations according to Department of Defense protocol.
Communicates with leadership and participates in regular supervision, sharing information on trends and issues.
Participates in regular in‑services/training, quality improvement committees or other contract activities as assigned.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required (associate degree + 4 years experience or high school + 6 years experience may be considered).
3+ years of financial counseling experience.
Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English; bilingual English/Spanish may be required.
Ability to obtain a favorable Tier 2 investigation.
Must pass the OCI process.
Must hold one of the following certifications: AFC, CFP, or ChFC.
Valid driver’s license (optional).
