Role:

By emphasizing ONE Park, ONE Mission, One Team, the Financial Relationship Advisor I supports current and potential members with their credit union needs. This includes explaining services, setting up new accounts, resolving issues, and directing members to the appropriate team members when necessary. The role focuses on building lasting relationships with members, advocating for their lifelong financial needs, and helping them achieve financial wellness through personalized advice and solutions. The advisor also processes teller transactions, opens and closes accounts, assists with lending needs, and ensures compliance with credit union policies and procedures.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Greet all visitors in a friendly, sincere manner and assist members professionally.

Act as an advocate for members in the branch and on the phone.

Build relationships with members, identify opportunities to assist, and offer sound advice and solutions to help them achieve financial wellness.

Develop and maintain strong member relationships through proactive follow‑up and actively identify members’ needs to recommend appropriate products, services, and solutions.

Assist members with navigating and adopting existing and new digital technology.

Establish and maintain strong, positive, productive working relationships with internal and external partners.

Actively collaborate with partners in other lines of business to provide solutions that meet members’ financial needs and goals.

Maintain knowledge of current credit union financial products and services; utilize that knowledge to advise and recommend products that meet members’ needs.

Process teller transactions and open/close accounts, including general membership and custodial accounts.

Perform account maintenance, maintain and update records.

Assist members with lending needs, including educating and recommending lending products, submitting consumer loan applications, collecting documentation, closing loans, and performing loan maintenance.

Focus on accuracy in all areas, ensuring errors/minimal corrections.

Maintain knowledge of and demonstrate adherence to all credit union policies, procedures and regulations.

Keep manager informed of any issues that may arise.

Work to resolve problems within authority; when necessary, escalated or marked as a key issue.

Achieve individual goals and contribute to branch and organizational objectives.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Provide friendly, professional and accurate service and support to all members and co‑workers.

Identify members' needs, recommend products and process requests with a minimal number of errors.

Develop and improve knowledge and skills in the financial services area.

Follow the credit union’s Bank Secrecy Act and anti‑money laundering policies and procedures, including running OFAC searches, completing investigative reports and currency transaction reports timely and accurately.

Maintain a professional work environment, promote teamwork, build respect among co‑workers, and present a businesslike appearance.

Follow all security policies and procedures, reporting discrepancies or suspicious activity to manager promptly.

Knowledge and Skills Experience:

One to three years of similar or related experience.

Education:

A high school diploma or GED.

Interpersonal Skills:

Ability to build relationships, resolve conflict, and maintain confidentiality and discretion.

Other Skills:

Service‑oriented, detail‑oriented, organized, adaptable, learner mindset, problem‑solving, critical thinking. Preferred: prior cash‑handling experience in a financial institution, proficiency with MS Office, Internet, and email.

Physical Requirements Work is performed in a general office environment with frequent interaction with customers. Tasks include sitting, standing, walking short distances, using hands to count currency, handling documents, and using computers and office equipment. Occasionally pushing/pulling furniture, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching overhead. May lift up to 15 lb routinely, occasionally up to 25 lb.
