About the Role
We are looking for an Electrical Controls Designer with hands‑on experience designing and engineering industrial automation control panels. This role involves developing complete control‑panel packages—from schematics to layouts to component selection—using AutoCAD and working closely with project engineering.
If you have experience building control panels from the ground up and want to be part of a skilled, fast‑moving engineering group, this is an excellent fit.
What You'll Do
Engineer and design industrial automation control panels for power and control applications
Develop detailed wiring diagrams, schematics, layouts, and panel sizing in AutoCAD
Select, specify, and document panel components (PLC hardware, power supplies, breakers, relays, etc.)
Design AC/DC power distribution, grounding, and protection schemes
Produce network diagrams and system architecture drawings
Interpret P&IDs, process flows, and customer specifications to create complete design packages
Ensure panel designs meet industry standards (UL508A and relevant electrical codes)
Collaborate with engineering, fabrication teams, and customers during design reviews
Maintain drawing revisions and BOM accuracy throughout the project cycle
What We're Looking For
Required:
3+ years designing or engineering industrial control panels
5+ years of AutoCAD experience (AutoCAD Electrical preferred)
Strong understanding of panel components, electrical design practices, and control hardware
Ability to translate concepts or rough designs into complete engineering packages
Experience reading and interpreting P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics
Preferred:
Experience with PLC or DCS hardware design
Familiarity with UL508A standards
Background in panel fabrication or systems integration
Seniority level Mid‑Senior level
