Summary The antitrust paralegal is a vital member of the antitrust practice group, and is responsible for assisting with HSR filing preparation, maintaining HSR-related files, and assisting antitrust case teams. The antitrust paralegal works directly with attorneys, and other firm support departments and is responsible for overseeing HSR and other antitrust-related projects. Ideal candidates must be highly motivated, and conscientious, have exceptional organization and communication skills, and a sharp eye for detail. Above-average oral and written skills, and exceptional interpersonal skills are requisite.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Prepare HSR forms and attachments.

Track and maintain HSR and other antitrust-related files and templates.

Manage and coordinate communications and document transmissions with other counsel and government agencies.

Deliver electronic media and corresponding cover letters and track delivery of production materials.

Assist with complex discovery projects such as second requests; and provide paralegal support in connection with document review and production, deposition preparation, and privilege logs.

Conduct online research.

Organize, review and maintain documents and case files; compile documents for ECF filings.

Organize and maintain electronic record of deposition transcripts, videos, and hard copy record of original and certified transcripts.

Review transcripts and videos for errata.

Draft documents such as TOA/TOC.

Assist with additional case related projects, as needed.

Qualifications and Position Requirements

Strong understanding of the HSR submission process.

Strong organizational skills, efficiency and attention to detail.

Ability to manage a varied workload without direct supervision, take ownership of discrete projects and prioritize requests under time pressure.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ensure confidentiality of all the firm’s and clients’ documentation and information.

Must be able to work collaboratively with lawyers and staff, demonstrating strong teamwork and a positive attitude.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and other office tools including, document review software and document management systems.

Familiarity with LexisNexis/Westlaw, FTC HSR Guidance Opinions, Kiteworks, PACER, CM/ECF and other legal research tools.

Familiarity with Relativity and other eDiscovery tools.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record (required).

Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved paralegal program (preferred).

Minimum 7-10 years’ antitrust experience (preferred).

Compensation Salary:

$120,000.00-$175,000.00, plus overtime and bonus
