Cybersecurity Analyst

Core4ce is seeking a Mid-level Cybersecurity Analyst responsible for identifying, evaluating, prioritizing, and remediating cyber threats while deploying and managing enterprise security tools. The role involves reviewing new systems for security risks, partnering with business units to implement protections, responding to security incidents, and coordinating with IT teams to support secure architecture and engineering activities.
Responsibilities
Manage and optimize the deployment and maintenance of enterprise-level cybersecurity tools to ensure their effectiveness and efficiency.
Analyze and assess proposed systems, networks, and software designs for security vulnerabilities and potential risks.
Develop and implement security strategies and countermeasures to address identified vulnerabilities and ensure integration with existing security frameworks.
Collaborate with IT and Incident Response teams to swiftly address and resolve security incidents, ensuring compliance with established procedures and timelines.
Work closely with IT and engineering teams to align architecture and development activities with security objectives and industry best practices.
Support creation and maintenance of documentation in line with industry standards such as DFARS, NIST SP 800-171, and NIST SP 800-53 Revision 5, including Security Plans and Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
Support system categorization, selection, and implementation of security controls, and conduct thorough security assessments.
Prepare and manage authorization packages, facilitate authorization decisions, and ensure ongoing compliance and continuous monitoring.
Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance the organization’s overall security posture and provide expertise on Risk Management Framework (RMF) and compliance requirements.
Develop, update, and enforce security policies and procedures to stay ahead of evolving threats and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and analyze security events and logs to detect and mitigate threats to the organization’s information systems.
Support internal and external security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry regulations, and security standards.
Requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related engineering discipline.
5 or more years of relevant experience.
In-depth understanding of DoD cybersecurity policies, directives, and standards, such as DoD Instruction 8500.01 (Cybersecurity) and DoD Instruction 8510.01 (Risk Management Framework).
Familiarity with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) requirements and its application within the DoD environment.
Must be able to obtain/maintain security and technical certifications to meet 8140 compliance requirements.
Experience supporting, troubleshooting, and administering a variety of networks, OSs, and applications.
Strong knowledge and experience administering a variety of current Microsoft platforms.
Knowledge of data security administration principles, methods, and techniques.
Familiarity with domain structures, user authentication, and digital signatures.
Preferred
Ability to read and interpret security and technical documentation.
Proven track record of maintaining the confidentiality of high-sensitivity projects and data.
Ability to perform critical‑incident respons.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including military personnel and contractors.
