Key Responsibilities The Oil Sales & Market Development Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and expanding market channels for recycled transformer oil and dielectric fluids processed across Emerald Transformer’s facilities. This role focuses on maximizing value and sales volume by identifying, qualifying, and building relationships with new and existing buyers of recycled oil feedstocks. The ideal candidate will have both commercial acumen and a technical understanding of oil recycling, specification, and downstream application. Working cross-functionally with facility managers, purchasing and sales, this person ensures the company’s oil output is aligned with the most profitable and sustainable markets.
Develop and execute a commercial strategy to sell recycled transformer oil and dielectric fluids into domestic and international markets.
Identify, qualify, and manage potential buyers including re-refiners, blenders, utilities, industrial manufacturers, chemical processors, brokers, and others.
Evaluate each facility’s processing capabilities and oil specifications to match product quality with the right markets.
Monitor facility unit treads and oil volumes.
Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, and pricing trends to optimize margins and placement of recycled oil streams.
Coordinate with the sales and service leaders to balance inbound feedstock vs. outbound sales.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and offtake agreements with customers and brokers.
Develop and maintain sales forecasts and inventory movement reports for recycled oil volumes.
Support environmental compliance and documentation related to oil transfers and customer deliveries.
Build relationships with regional and national buyers, attending industry events and trade shows as needed.
Provide insight into new products or processing opportunities that could enhance recovered oil value (e.g., additional filtration, re-refining partnerships).
Maintain CRM data, track customer performance, and produce monthly commercial performance summaries.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Honest, trustworthy and reliable.
Hardworking.
Physical ability to preform heavy work, exerting up to 10lbs of force occasionally.
Ability to travel up to 15%.
Experience with commodity or feed stock sales is strongly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 5+ years of experience in sales, supply, or commercial management within a related industry such as transformer oil; used oil recycling or re-fining; lubricants, base oils, or industrial fluid; petroleum, waste management, or environmental services.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or related field preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, etc).
Proven ability to negotiate contracts and manage customer relationships.
Strategic thinker who can connect technical process capability with market demand.
