to grow our presence by building trust with business owners, founders, and community leaders—locally in Kansas City
and
with companies across the U.S. and select international markets. This is not an inside sales/SDR role. It’s a
relationship + territory role
where your job is to be visible in the local business community while also developing and closing opportunities nationally and internationally through meetings, referrals, and strategic conversations. You’ll attend local events regularly and periodically travel to company-sponsored events, conferences, and meetings (travel expenses covered by Hyre). What You’ll Do
You’ll operate like a territory business developer—building a strong local presence while pursuing opportunities across broader markets. Build authentic relationships with business owners, founders, and executives locally and nationally Actively participate in the Kansas City business ecosystem: chambers, associations, networking groups, and community events Sell to companies across the United States, with opportunities to engage prospects in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and other markets Attend company-sponsored events, conferences, and off-site meetings as needed (travel expenses paid) Generate opportunities through in-person conversations, referrals, warm introductions, and strategic outreach Identify and cultivate strategic referral partners and centers of influence Set and participate in qualified meetings for deeper discovery conversations Track relationships, follow-ups, and pipeline in a CRM with strong discipline Represent Hyre professionally at all meetings, events, and travel engagements What You Bring
Proven experience in relationship-based business development, outside sales, partnerships, or consulting Confidence and credibility in face-to-face business conversations Ability to manage a mix of local relationship-building and national/international deal development Strong follow-up, organization, and pipeline management skills (CRM discipline is required) Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort operating autonomously Willingness to attend local events regularly and travel periodically for company-sponsored events Professional presence and high integrity Experience in staffing, professional services, or B2B consulting is a plus This Role Is NOT For You
