Responsibilities
Administers the bid process from project kickoff to award, including system set‑up, bid package strategy, project manual creation, bid list management, drafting, and reviewing bid package scope of work, bid meetings, bid leveling, and recommendation to award.
Administers the contract process, preparing and entering contracts and procurement change orders; assists in negotiation of contract terms; ensures contract compliance.
Assists in identifying and monitoring current market conditions, trade contractors, trends, and costs.
Recognizes and drives opportunities in the Diverse Owned Small Business (DOSB) utilization process.
Communicates and coordinates with trade contractors, vendors, and jobsite personnel while supporting internal and external customers.
Assists with trade partner risk mitigation strategy and execution, coordinating with operations teams and risk management.
Coaches and mentors less experienced team members.
Supports a positive and inclusive work environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar technical field.
4+ years of purchasing and/or construction experience.
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability for public speaking and to lead meetings.
Knowledge of construction law, contracts, and risk management.
Knowledge of insurance.
Ability to read construction drawings and understand specifications.
Ability to prepare project manual.
Ability to analyze bids, summarize, and present results.
Participate in the GMP process and understand the importance of Purchasing’s role regarding trade partner pre‑qualification.
Ability to coordinate effective procurement of Virtual Design and Construction (VDC).
Ability to run the pre‑bid RFI process.
