Join a dynamic maritime team as a Marine Estimator and play a vital role in shaping the success of complex naval and commercial projects. You will leverage your estimating expertise to evaluate project specifications, develop precise cost proposals, and foster lasting client relationships.

Responsibilities

Conduct site checks and vessel visits to assess project conditions.

Develop competitive bids for commercial and government contracts by determining pricing strategies.

Negotiate contracts and manage change orders to ensure project scope alignment.

Attend production meetings and collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients.

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings (PDF or AutoCAD), and project specifications.

Prepare work schedules utilizing Microsoft Project or comparable project management software.

Source and evaluate material and labor costs, ensuring estimates meet project requirements.

Build and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and subcontractors.

Actively seek new bid opportunities and expand customer base.

Maintain detailed electronic and physical reports, records, and resources on products, vendors, and government protocols.

Analyze KPIs and metrics to refine cost accuracy and project estimates.

Requirements

Minimum of 2+ years of maritime estimating, port engineering, or shipyard management experience.

Ability to interpret project specifications and blueprints with precision.

Strong organizational skills and self‑motivation.

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Proven teamwork skills with the capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Excel; experience with ERP systems like Oracle NetSuite preferred.

Valid U.S. driver’s license; ability to obtain or possess a TWIC card if required.

Ability to pass pre‑employment drug testing.

Preferably, a degree in marine engineering or a related engineering field.
