Overview This role sits within a busy Capital Markets operations environment and supports day-to-day settlement activity across a broad derivatives portfolio. The Associate will work closely with trading, middle office, and global affiliate teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of settlement obligations for transactions booked in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
Products Covered FX, OTC derivatives, cleared derivatives, margin activity, and short-term USD/CAD funding products. The position reports to a senior leader within the Derivatives Settlements function.
About the Team The broader Derivatives Operations group supports Capital Markets activity through several specialized areas, including trade support, confirmations, settlements, margin operations, and client service. The Settlements team oversees both pre- and post-settlement workflows, monitors daily exposure, and aligns processes with evolving industry guidelines and regulatory expectations. The group is also advancing its risk-control framework and contributing to ongoing technology enhancements.
This position is primarily based in the Westchester County, NY area.
Key Responsibilities
Validate and affirm settlement details ahead of payment execution
Produce metrics, dashboards, and other transparency-focused reporting
Support process and control enhancements, including planning and rollout of operational improvements
Identify, escalates, and mitigates settlement-related operational risks
Investigate and resolve settlement breaks or payment discrepancies
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field
5–10 years of experience in derivatives operations; settlements background strongly preferred
Prior exposure to settlement investigations and/or SWIFT messaging is beneficial
Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, collaborative approach, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
