We are looking for a visionary
Director of Learning & Development
to architect the learning infrastructure for a world-class production environment. This executive leader will be responsible for the strategic design and deployment of technical training frameworks, leadership pipelines, and the digital systems that track professional certification. Operating initially across our
Tempe and Peoria, AZ
sites, you will transition into a permanent leadership role at our flagship manufacturing facility as it moves from the construction phase into full-scale operations. Key Areas of Responsibility
LMS Implementation:
Lead the end-to-end selection, deployment, and optimization of a scalable Learning Management System (LMS) and digital certification tracking platform. Data Integrity:
Establish governance and reporting standards, ensuring seamless integration between learning platforms and existing HRIS or enterprise systems. Compliance Scalability:
Build a system capable of managing rigorous safety, technical, and regulatory compliance standards for a high-consequence work environment. Technical Roadmaps:
Partner with Engineering and Operations leaders to identify critical skill gaps and develop training pathways for highly technical manufacturing roles. Certification Management:
Design and oversee the lifecycle of internal certifications, ensuring all personnel meet industry-specific quality and safety protocols. Blended Delivery:
Oversee a mix of e-learning, instructor-led sessions, and hands-on, on-the-job training modules. Strategic Leadership & Impact Culture Building:
Foster an environment of continuous improvement and operational excellence during a major site expansion. Team Leadership:
Direct a multidisciplinary team of instructional designers and program managers, supplemented by external vendor partnerships. Analytics & ROI:
Utilize data to measure the effectiveness of learning initiatives, reporting on workforce readiness and the impact of development programs on business outcomes. Professional Profile
Mandatory Requirements: Proven Tenure:
A minimum of 10 years in L&D or Organizational Development, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity. Industry Context:
Direct experience in a high-tech manufacturing or precision-engineering environment. Systems Expert:
Demonstrated success in selecting and launching an LMS and a complex certification operating system. Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Engineering, or Organizational Development (Master’s degree is highly preferred). Location & Shift:
Ability to support site-based operations in the
Tempe/Peoria
corridor as the facility matures. Technical & Preferred Assets: Familiarity with the unique terminology and processes associated with high-precision manufacturing. Hands-on experience with top-tier platforms like
Workday Learning, SuccessFactors, or Cornerstone . Professional certifications such as
CPLP, ATD , or similar instructional design credentials. Expertise in
performance consulting
and adult learning principles within a fast-paced production setting.
