Sr. Oncology Sales Representative – Pittsburgh, PA
Job Summary:
Drive adoption of our leading immunotherapy compound in the Pittsburgh territory. Partner with key oncology stakeholders, educate on clinical value, and help patients access breakthrough treatments. General Responsibilities
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of product value, compare and position our brand versus competitors, and provide additional information when requested. Act as primary point of contact for customers, meeting with key stakeholders to understand practice structure, business model, and influencers. Apply knowledge of cancer staging, treatment options, dosing schedules, and clinical trials across multiple tumor types to support account strategy. Analyze buying trends in a complex oncology environment, reviewing patterns of prescribing, infusion types, and specialty pharmacy usage. Develop short‑and‑long‑term account plans with stakeholders, proactively working with the account team, and share best practices. Influence beyond specific geography, using strategic questions to obtain customer needs from all oncology account stakeholders. Collaborate with extended customer team to ensure a consistent experience across divisions, integrating with Key Account Manager, Nurse Educator, and reimbursement associates. Position Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 6–8 years of oncology field sales experience OR high school diploma with 10+ years of equivalent experience. 2+ years of oncology field sales experience. Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a motor vehicle; travel up to 25% of the time. Preferred Experience and Skills
Documented history of strong performance in a sales/marketing or oncology clinical role. Clinical oncology experience across solid tumors including breast, ovarian, and cervical. Compensation
Salary range: $153,800.00 – $242,200.00. Eligible for annual bonus and long‑term incentive. Comprehensive benefits package available at Merck Compensation & Benefits. EEO Statement
