Recreational Therapist

AvaMed Inc. is a leading Healthcare Staffing Agency specializing in placing qualified providers throughout California State Correctional Facilities. We are currently seeking a Certified Recreational Therapist for a full-time assignment at the correctional facility in Represa, CA. Must be Certified and must have a minimum of 1 year experience.

Position Details:

Certified Recreational Therapist

Full-Time

Location: Represa, CA

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am - 3:30pm

Weekly Pay

Rate: $60/hr Traveler Rate (1099 rate available)

Job Duties/Requirements

Develop and implement specialized recreation therapy services for Patient-Inmates.

Provide therapeutic interventions that promote social interaction and healthy use of leisure time.

Support Patient-Inmates or Youth in preparing for reentry into the general population or other treatment levels.

Participate as a member of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team

Coordinate treatment services with primary clinicians, correctional counselors, and custody staff.

Evaluate recreation therapy needs with emphasis on:

Activities of daily living

Communication and social skills

Physical exercise and wellness

Development of positive coping strategies
