Director of Custodial, Pete White Wellness Center (YMCA)
Join the YMCA of Greater Oklahoma City as Director of Custodial. The director is responsible for carrying out custodial duties, maintaining the facility as outlined in the YOKC Maintenance Manual, hiring, scheduling and working alongside custodial staff, managing janitorial supplies and ensuring equipment is functional. The role requires a self‑starter with minimal direction.
Duties and Responsibilities
Complete Bloodborne Pathogens, Sexual Harassment and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire and renew annually.
Execute janitorial work as outlined in the building schedule and under the Janitorial Director.
Scrub/Mop hard floors to keep surfaces clean.
Deep clean carpet and tile as scheduled.
Complete high dust cleaning as scheduled.
Detail stairwell and running track areas.
Change air dispenser cartridges.
Ensure exterior window cleaning is completed as scheduled.
Secure facilities at the end of each shift.
Report any facility issues through the supervisor.
Develop meaningful and sustainable relationships with members, donors, and volunteers.
Assist in all other duties pertaining to janitorial services.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
5 years’ experience in custodial work covering all janitorial needs and managing a range of staff.
Experience with floor scrubbers, carpet machines, and high/low speed buffers.
Experience with flooring concepts including VCT floor strip/wax, concrete floor polishing, rubber flooring, and tile/grout management.
Good communication skills and the ability to follow directions.
Ability to use technology to report facility issues and manage time.
Compensation Starting at $40,000 per year.
