The Assistant Director of Engineering within the Engineering Department plays a key leadership role in maintaining the resort’s facilities, grounds, and water features. This position assists in directing daily operations, supervising staff, coordinating maintenance work, and ensuring all resort areas are safe, reliable, and maintained to the highest standards.
What You’ll Do
Assist the Director of Engineering in leading and developing the Engineering, Grounds, and Water Features teams, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for building systems, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and life-safety equipment.
Ensure the resort’s landscaping, gardens, pathways, and outdoor areas are well-maintained, safe, and visually appealing.
Manage the operation, cleanliness, and upkeep of all water features, ensuring proper water quality, filtration, lighting, and safety practices.
Conduct routine property inspections, identify issues, and ensure timely resolution through effective work-order management.
Support capital improvement projects and coordinate with contractors to ensure quality work and minimal guest impact.
Assist in managing departmental budgets, purchasing, inventory, and cost-control initiatives.
Promote safety and regulatory compliance, upholding all resort, local, and industry standards.
Respond promptly to guest-impact concerns and collaborate with other departments to maintain smooth resort operations.
Serve as acting Director of Engineering when the Director is absent.

Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of engineering or facilities maintenance experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
Solid technical understanding of building systems; experience with grounds and water features preferred.
Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities.
Must be available to work flexible shifts including, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must be available to lift a moderate amount of weight.
Hospitality or resort experience highly desirable.
