Resident Care Manager Reporting directly to the Director of Nursing, the Resident Care Manager oversees and coordinates all aspects of resident care and the care staff team to ensure the highest standards of service, safety, and resident satisfaction.

Position Summary The Resident Care Manager leads individualized care plans, supervises and mentors care staff, and ensures compliance with policies and regulatory requirements, promoting a resident‑centered approach.

Essential Functions

Develop and facilitate resident‑directed programming.

Assess resident needs, incorporate activities into individual plans.

Coordinate resident orientation and monitor changes.

Work with staff, volunteers, families, and community to provide psychosocial care.

Provide leadership and education to staff and families on individualized service plans.

Mentor staff and volunteers for specific training.

Coordinate schedules and provide hands‑on care.

Organize orientation, mentorship, and ongoing training.

Ensure excellent resident care within all care levels.

Write monthly calendars and newsletters as requested.

Encourage resident activities and participate in activities.

Participate in interview and onboarding of care staff.

Provide input on performance reviews and coordinate with DON.

Implement new hire orientation and training.

Support nursing duties on scheduled floor shifts.

Promote physical, personal, and emotional wellbeing of residents.

Understand Advanced Directives and follow wishes.

Communicate effectively with families about resident care.

Engage in conflict intervention and resolution as needed.

Qualifications

Associate degree and 2+ years of experience preferred OR 4+ years of relevant experience.

CNA or CMT certification preferred.

CPR or BLS certification preferred.

Experience in a similar role, preferably in senior living or healthcare.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, EHR systems, and HR‑related systems.

Working Conditions

Requires walking, standing, lifting up to 50 pounds independently, or 200 pounds with assistance.

May require stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing.

Communication of written information required.

Compliance with infection prevention protocols and PPE.

Participates in staff activities fostering teamwork and morale.

Stays current on training and education initiatives.
