Job Summary
The Tax Senior will be assisting in the preparation of the U.S. Federal consolidated and Form 5471 tax compliance, International tax compliance, foreign company E&P tracking, tax planning, and monthly & quarterly tax accounting. The Tax Senior will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work two (2) days a week remotely, as business needs allow. Responsibilities
Tax compliance preparation utilizing Excel, SAP, and CorpTax (Forms 1120, 1065 and 5471) Tax accounting monthly work utilizing Excel, SAP and CorpTax under the direction of the Company’s tax accounting lead Assist with diverse oil & gas tax matters including tax partnerships, state tax matters, and tax depreciation and depletion Detail oriented and strong financial and accounting skills Federal & state income tax compliance for U.S.-based multi-national Track non-U.S. previously taxed income (“PTI”) and earnings & profits Work well with teams, in a fast-paced environment, with multiple deadlines and tasks Licenses/ Certifications
CPA preferred Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Economic, Finance or Mathematics Minimum 5 years’ experience in U.S. federal & state income tax compliance or planning Experience with CorpTax or other tax compliance software Big Four or Law Firm experience a plus Th e individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs. The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Desired/Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Accounting, J.D., MBA, or similar degree Public accounting or fast-paced corporate tax environment, highly preferred Strong individual contributor with a proven track record Previous public accounting experience, corporate in-house or multinational oil and gas experience preferred Big 4 experience preferred Upstream oil & Gas experience Must be good with numbers PURPOSE
