The Senior Manager, Oncology Sales is responsible for responsible for managing a national sales team to drive revenue growth and leading a high performing sales organization focused on ENTs, Radiation Oncologists and the care team for head and neck cancers. The Senior Manager, Oncology Sales manages Oncology Sales Specialists in their given territory, assists in identifying and evaluating market opportunities and sales potential, and provides mentoring and coaching. This is a management position responsible for providing strategic oversight and leadership to the field regional staff while achieving sales and profitability goals.
Core Responsibilities
First line leadership, responsible for managing national team to drive revenue growth and leading a high performing sales organization focused on ENTs and care team that treat HNC
Develop and execute national sales strategy aligned with corporate objectives
Lead and mentor Sales Representatives to foster a high-performance culture
Grow partnerships across hospital networks, reference labs, and integrated delivery systems
Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, medical affairs, operations, and partner sales teams
Monitor and analyze sales performance, forecast trends, and report to senior leadership
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
Coordinate, partner, and liaise with Outsourced Commercial partner
Provide quality leadership for internal and external customers in all assigned tasks, while always upholding company values
Prioritize effectively and in accordance with corporate objectives
Responsible for forecasting sales activity and revenue achievement
Communicate business value through ROI metrics and cost reduction strategies
Develop strategies and tactics to develop new opportunities in conjunction with outbound marketing resources
Keeps the company informed of market dynamics and competitive activity
Develops and maintains superior relationships with contacts and decision-makers; builds long‑term relationships by meeting and exceeding customer expectations for future sales
Understands internal information technology systems and how they interface with clients
Participates in sales meetings, seminars, industry conferences, and tradeshows and manages event coordination
Additional Responsibilities (may be assigned)
Serves on other work groups or committees as requested
May participate in customer strategy and market research activities
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred)
12+ years of progressive experience in life sciences sales and marketing preferred, 5 years required
5+ years of molecular diagnostics experience is highly preferred
2+ years supervisory or management experience required, preferably of a sales staff
ENT or Oncology experience highly preferred
Ability to navigate complex healthcare systems and payer environments
Track record of building consultative relationships with C-suite executives
Proven leadership skills
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills at all levels of the organization
Supervisory or management experience, preferably of a sales staff
Demonstrated record of achievement in a prior sales position
Strong closing skills
Prior attendance at formal sales training courses a plus
Proven oral, written, telephone and presentation skills
Solid knowledge of clinical and/or laboratory market environment
Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed on assignments
Proficient with MS Office programs
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Holds a valid driver's license for state of residence
Travel: Ability to travel as required by role (up to 75% of the time). Some overnight travel may be required.
