About the Project Blithe Spirit by Noël Coward

Directed by Hjalmer Anderson

Heart Repertory Theatre invites actors to audition for Noël Coward’s sparkling supernatural comedy Blithe Spirit. Full of wit, charm, and escalating mischief, this classic offers rich character work and the kind of ensemble collaboration at the heart of Heart Rep’s mission.

Synopsis: Novelist Charles Condomine invites eccentric medium Madame Arcati to conduct a séance as research for his next book. The evening takes a chaotic turn when the ghost of his late wife, Elvira, is summoned back — and she’s determined to reclaim her husband. As Charles’s current wife, Ruth, becomes increasingly exasperated, Coward’s razor sharp comedy unfolds in a whirlwind of wit, jealousy, and supernatural interference.
