DEPARTMENT Treaty Rights and Government Affairs

JOB SUMMARY The Legislative Policy Analyst will research, identify, analyze and track legislation on the local, state and federal level as it pertains to tribal sovereignty, treaty rights and a variety of issues that affect tribal governments. Develops and promotes relationships through networking opportunities with Federal, State and local governments, including their agencies. Supports the Director of Governmental Affairs in achieving the mission of the department. Coordinates with Tulalips state and federal lobbyists to advance Tulalip’s policy goals through legislation.

COMPENSATION $36.86

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Bachelor’s Degree in related field. *Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.

MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE

Four (4) years of legislative and/or policy experience at the local, state and federal levels.

Four (4) years of experience working in public forums.

Experience working with tribal governments.

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES

WA State Driver License.

(Personal Auto Insurance)

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT This is a Regular Full-time position.
