Our client, a highly rated national insurance carrier, is expanding its Large Contract Surety division and seeking a Territory Underwriting Manager to lead underwriting and agency development in the Western region. This is a high-impact, fully remote opportunity for an experiencedsuretyprofessional to take ownership of a strategic territory, build and manage key agency relationships, and underwrite complexsuretyprograms for mid- to large-sized contractors.
Key Responsibilities
Drive growth and profitability of the regional contractsuretybook by developing and strengthening agency partnerships Underwrite and managesuretyprograms for a wide range of contractor types, including those with complex bonding needs Partner with agents and brokers to uncover new business opportunities and support renewal and retention strategies Collaborate with leadership on territory planning, market expansion, and cross-sell initiatives involving commercial and small contractsurety Contribute to company strategy through market insights and relationship-building within the construction andsuretyspace Qualifications
5 – 10+ years of contract surety underwriting experience, preferably with larger contractors or more complex bond structures Strong familiarity with the large contract surety dynamics throughout the Western region Established relationships with brokers and contractors in the region highly preferred Bachelor’s degree and Industry designations such as AFSB, CPCU, or related certifications preferred Compensation & Benefits
