Job Summary: As a Sales Consultant, you will help power business success by pursuing new prospects, communicating a compelling value proposition, and selling a comprehensive HR solution that includes access to benefits, payroll, and HR services to companies with 5–99 employees in your designated territory. You will be responsible for prospecting and building your own book of business, owning your opportunities, and executing a well-structured sales process. Success in this role involves building a strong pipeline, conducting client meetings, writing proposals, and presenting to key stakeholders, including C-level executives and business owners.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Plan:

Develop and execute an annual territory plan, typically covering multiple states or regions, and targeting diverse industries.

Prospect:

Continuously build a balanced pipeline using traditional prospecting (cold calling, email, phone, LinkedIn) and through ecosystem partnerships and referrals.

Qualify Opportunities:

Leverage a deep understanding of the target market and decision‑maker personas to qualify leads quickly and efficiently.

Consultative Selling:

Build trusted advisor relationships with internal teams and client stakeholders to foster long‑term partnerships.

Sales Process:

Navigate a complex, multi‑step sales process (typically 3–6 months), balancing several opportunities in parallel.

Sales Tools:

Utilize platforms such as Salesforce.com, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, and quoting tools to manage pipeline and workflow efficiently.

Meet Quotas:

Consistently achieve sales targets and activity metrics.

Administrative Tasks:

Complete all required documentation, CRM updates, and internal processes in a timely and accurate manner.

Basic Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

3+ years in a B2B sales role with a complex sales cycle.

Experience in the HR, payroll, or PEO industry is preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Proven ability to build a book of business through direct and referral‑based sales.

Ability to manage multiple sales cycles and priorities simultaneously.

Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.

High ethical standards and ability to thrive in a diverse workplace.

Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving business environment.

Proficient with MS Office and CRM systems (especially Salesforce).

Detail‑oriented and highly organized.

Travel Requirements:

Must be willing and able to travel to prospective client sites within the assigned territory.

Work Environment:

Compensation & Benefits:

Base Salary Range:

90K OTE $170K uncapped

Commission:

Eligible for commission per company’s sales incentive plan.
