About Moving In The Right Direction Foundation Inc.
The mission of Moving In The Right Direction Foundation is to empower youth, with a specific focus on low-income families, to achieve their full potential by providing comprehensive and accessible support and opportunities in sports, academics, and college access, fostering their holistic development, and paving the way for future success.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Set Up Crew:
This team is essential for event preparation. Volunteers will assist with all aspects of setting up the venue, including any structural elements, decor, and preparing all areas for the event.
Artist/Celebrity Concert Escorts:
This role requires discretion and professionalism. Volunteers will be responsible for guiding artists and special guests to and from their designated areas, ensuring they are comfortable and have a seamless experience.
Greeter & Usher (Front of House):
As the first point of contact, this volunteer's friendly face and warm demeanor will set the tone. Duties include welcoming guests, checking tickets, providing programs, and guiding them to their seats. Volunteers will also manage foot traffic and answer general questions about the venue, restrooms, and emergency exits.
Merchandise & Information Booth:
These volunteers will be a key resource for attendees. Responsibilities include setting up and managing the merchandise table, handling cash and credit card transactions, and answering questions about the artists' music and backgrounds.
Parking Safety Attendants:
Volunteers are vital to ensuring a smooth and safe arrival. They will direct traffic flow within the parking area and guide guests to open parking spots, helping to maintain an organized and efficient parking lot. Under the Direction of “M.R.D. Heritage Security,” volunteers will help traffic flow, and keep all guests and pedestrians safe during busy hours in ALL parking areas and structures.
Wardrobe Assistants:
Volunteers will work directly with the artists to assist with their costume and wardrobe needs. Volunteer support ensures the performers can focus on their artistry, knowing they are prepared for the stage.
VIP Attendants:
This is a crucial role for ensuring our most distinguished guests have an exceptional and seamless experience by directing guests to the proper escorts and location.
Personal Escorts:
Greet VIPs upon arrival and escort them directly to their designated lounge or seating area. Anticipate and address any needs the VIP may have.
Runner/Floater:
Volunteers will provide flexible support wherever it is needed most. This role requires a proactive attitude and a willingness to help with a variety of tasks, from last-minute setup to running errands for the event coordinator.
Tear-Down & Cleanup Crew:
This team is essential for a smooth and efficient conclusion to the event. Volunteers will assist with disassembling and packing up the merchandise table, collecting trash, and tidying up the seating area.
Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes
Attire:
Comfortable closed-toe shoes (no crocs or sandals). Volunteers supporting indoor operations should wear all black business attire. Outdoor parking assistants should wear comfy shoes, dark or black pants, and a plain black shirt. Please don't wear bright colors. Volunteer vests will be provided for all parking attendants. This opportunity takes place both indoors and outdoors.
Bring:
Government ID or Drivers License.
Physical Requirements:
Bending, able to lift up to 20lbs, standing for a long duration of time. Unfortunately, this opportunity is not able to make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations. The space where this project takes place is wheelchair accessible.

Religious observance such as being led in prayer may take place during this volunteer opportunity.
