A boutique real estate private equity firm specializing in operational turnaround multifamily investments is seeking an experienced Asset Manager to oversee a portfolio of communities undergoing strategic operational and capital improvements. Role Overview The Asset Manager will lead the execution of property business plans, capital initiatives, and performance-optimization strategies aimed at elevating operational efficiency, resident experience, and overall financial results.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day performance of a portfolio of operational turnaround multifamily assets, ensuring business plans are executed with precision.
Partner closely with third-party property management through weekly performance reviews, on-site visits, and ongoing operational alignment.
Develop and refine annual budgets, financial reforecasts, KPIs, and longer-term strategic plans.
Oversee CapEx initiatives such as unit renovations, amenity enhancements, and property upgrades, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget.
Analyze monthly financials, leasing performance, expense trends, and KPI metrics to identify growth opportunities and support decision-making.
Prepare quarterly investor updates, performance dashboards, and other reporting materials.
Support acquisitions through operational insights, pro forma inputs, and market-driven recommendations.
Maintain proactive communication with lenders, ensuring timely delivery of reporting and covenant compliance.
Participate in hold/sell evaluations and assist with disposition processes, broker coordination, and transaction activities.
Collaborate with investments, construction, accounting, and leadership teams to ensure seamless execution.
Qualifications
5+ years of multifamily asset management experience, ideally within a small or mid-sized private equity firm or owner-operator environment.
Experience working with assets undergoing operational improvement, repositioning, or capital enhancement strategies.
Strong financial analysis capabilities, including budgeting, variance review, and NOI optimization.
Hands‑on familiarity with CapEx planning and renovation execution.
Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and relationship‑management skills.
Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast‑paced, and collaborative setting.
