Position Summary The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for multi‑craft maintenance activities, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, and controls systems, to ensure that production and facility equipment operate efficiently.
In addition to the general responsibilities associated with this role, the following summarizes key result areas, specific accountabilities, and job‑related tasks:
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance on equipment, including repairs, inspections, calibrations and scheduled overhauls or improvements
Use analytical troubleshooting skills to identify equipment problems, determine root causes and implement solutions to prevent recurrence
Perform both mechanical and electrical equipment repairs
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control systems and instrumentation
Collaborate with supervisors, operators, engineers and other technicians to identify and implement improvements in equipment and production efficiency
Participate in cross‑functional teams to support continuous improvement, quality enhancements and equipment installation or modification projects
Provide coaching and on‑the‑job training to other technicians and operators as needed
Perform and document work in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), including entries for work orders, PMs and permits within the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
Utilize computer systems such as email, CMMS and SOP databases
Log into CMMS at the beginning of each shift to receive daily work assignments or direction from supervisor/management
Complete assigned tasks, including booking labor and parts, creating and closing work orders for reactive calls and updating completion codes in the CMMS
Communicate issues and concerns effectively with peers and management, both verbally and through documentation in the CMMS
Execute all work in accordance with site policies, procedures and SOPs
Supervisory Responsibilities High School Diploma or GED.
Completion of a state‑accredited Journeyman or technical school program, OR equivalent formal education and field experience demonstrating proficiency in the following areas:
Mechanical maintenance of production equipment
Electrical maintenance
Instrumentation and controls
Mechanical fabrication/machine shop work
Requirements and Preferred Skills Associate's degree (AAS) in Engineering Technology
Understanding, repairing and troubleshooting of PC/PLC control systems
Experience in facilities and utilities maintenance, including:
HVAC systems
Boilers
Air compressors
Electrical distribution systems
Experience with material handling equipment
