Residential Coordinator
General Purpose: The Residential Coordinator performs a wide variety of duties to coordinate the programs and services of Easter Seals Goodwill ND, Inc. (ESGWND) as directed by the Director of Residential Services.
Essential Functions People Supported Support
Assist individuals and families to utilize services, including working directly with people supported as needed.
Ensure staff (DSPs and ESPs) complete documentation on time and review results for goal progress.
Help people manage finances, seek assistance, protect possessions, arrange transportation, and engage in community resources.
Serve as a signer on Representative Payee accounts at ESGWND when appointed.
Maintain homes and ensure all living arrangements meet health, safety, and ESGWND standards.
Support individuals with grooming, hygiene, and personal care, and ensure medical needs are met.
Provide formal and informal direction to staff to help them support individuals to achieve optimum health.
Ensure staff are trained to assist with medication administration and that people scheduled, attended, and followed recommendations from appointments.
Encourage people to meet nutritional needs by promoting balanced meals and following dietary orders set by doctors or family, and direct staff to prepare meals accordingly.
Follow Guidelines and Policies
Promote ESGWND’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
Maintain strong knowledge of ESGWND’s policies and procedures.
Uphold HIPAA regulations and ensure staff maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
Apply knowledge from The Council on Quality and Leadership in Supports for Persons with Disabilities and protocols established by ESGWND and the State of North Dakota Department of Human Services.
Have a general understanding of all services ESGWND is licensed to provide, even if not delivered in your regional office.
Manage Staff
Recruit, interview, and hire DSPs/ESPs in collaboration with Human Resources and Directors.
Conduct reference checks and maintain records for all potential hires.
Train, schedule, and supervise DSPs/ESPs, tailoring supervision to the specific program.
Maintain good team member relations.
Document training and conversations with team members, following HR record‑keeping guidelines.
Motivate team members and address performance issues.
Complete payroll and ensure staff are paid accurately.
Job Criteria Education & Experience
One year of experience working directly with people with developmental disabilities.
Become DD Certified by completing the prescribed MSU Developmental Disabilities modules.
Be certified in CPR and First Aid and/or Therapeutic Responses through Positive Behavior Support.
Knowledge, skills, & Abilities
Conceive, develop, and implement creative plans.
Multitask and solve problems independently in a fast‑paced team environment.
Excellent written, oral, and verbal communication skills.
Exercise discretion, judgment, and confidentiality.
Maintain confidentiality and security of departmental information and files.
Ensure compliance with ESGWND’s policies, procedures, and safety standards across regional work areas.
Working Conditions While performing this job, employees regularly sit for extended periods, walk and stand, talk in person and by telephone, use hands to handle standard office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 50 pounds. Vision is required for close and distant focus. The noise level is usually quiet to moderate, with occasional exposure to loud sounds. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable people with disabilities to perform essential functions. Minimal travel is required.
