About the Department
Childrens Minnesotas Genetics/Genomics Department is the only program in the state exclusively dedicated to pediatric genetics care. The team includes four geneticists, fourteen genetic counselors, three genetic counseling assistants, a clinic nurse, a metabolic dietitian, and two pharmacogenomics pharmacists. Genetics services are fully integrated across hematology/oncology, cardiology, neonatology, immunology, neurology, and pulmonology, with continued expansion into pediatric and adolescent precision medicine.

Position Summary
This role will build and advance precision medicine initiatives in collaboration with therapeutic and diagnostic services. Responsibilities include integrating genomic and healthcare data into the electronic health record to support point-of-care decision-making, applying data-driven strategies to improve outcomes and reduce costs, and supporting payor advocacy for pediatric and adolescent genomic testing.
The position provides outpatient care and inpatient consultations at the Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses, working closely with a multidisciplinary care team. Opportunities are available to participate in clinical research, program evaluation, and teaching medical students, residents, and genetic counseling students, including involvement in rapid genome sequencing initiatives in intensive care settings.

Qualifications

  • Board-eligible or board-certified in Clinical Genetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics
  • Additional experience in medical or clinical biochemical genetics preferred
  • Comfortable caring for patients with inborn errors of metabolism and general genetic conditions
  • Eligible for Minnesota medical licensure and hospital credentialing
  • Experience building clinical teams and collaborating across departments
  • Familiarity with EHR development, genomics data analysis, and clinical integration
  • Experience with advocacy and clinical-research collaboration preferred
