Contract: (3–4 months), W2 Location: 55 Water Street, Manhattan, NY 10038 (100% Onsite) Pay Rate: Mid-level: up to $43/hr W2 (based on experience) Senior-level (7+Years): up to $51/hr W2 (based on experience) Job Description: We are hiring multiple Technical Designers to support various apparel and intimates product lines—including sleepwear, bras, shapewear, loungewear, and fully fashioned sweaters. Each role will play a crucial part in ensuring product consistency, superior fit, and alignment with brand quality and comfort standards. Key Responsibilities: Own or support fittings (live model) and provide detailed fit comments and pattern corrections Maintain, update, and manage tech packs in Flex PLM and Illustrator Develop technical specs and communicate changes clearly to factories/vendors Partner with Design to uphold design intent and brand standards Evaluate prototype construction and ensure fit accuracy and consistency Identify risks around quality, production, or cost and recommend solutions Track development progress to meet calendar deadlines Support multiple product categories and shift priorities as needed Contribute to internal meetings and cross-functional collaboration Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or equivalent work experience Mid-level: 3–5 years of technical design experience (intimates or apparel preferred) Senior-level: 7+ years of experience in technical design, with expertise in intimates or specialty apparel Expertise in garment fit, patternmaking, construction, and grading Strong working knowledge of PLM systems (Flex PLM preferred), Excel, and Illustrator Experience using 3D fitting software (Clo3D or Browzwear) is a plus Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and written communication skills Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment Experience supporting fit sessions independently or with minimal oversight Comfortable working onsite in Manhattan 4–5 days a week Russell Tobin/Pride Global offers eligible employees comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision), supplemental insurance (accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity), 401(k) retirement savings, life & disability insurance, legal support, employee assistance programs, and exclusive discounts on home, auto, and pet insurance. #RTA Seniority level Seniority level Associate Employment type Employment type Contract Job function Job function Design and Art/Creative Industries Retail, Retail Apparel and Fashion, and Retail Luxury Goods and Jewelry Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Russell Tobin by 2x Sign in to set job alerts for “Technical Designer” roles.
